I loved reading this woman’s story. My favorite part was the realization (or fact, really) that you don’t have to exhibit stereotypically male characteristics to make it in business! I think this goes for any stereotype that “excels” in the business world. I wish that all employers/managers would see this. Great article. In my career, I have great women leaders mentors, and I am also present with current strugles of my female collegues, and I stand for creating more opportunities to level the playing field as mentioned. I mentored and coached women in leadership, but my coaching/education as a father start at home with my daughter to have the confidence, knowledge and believe she too can make it at the leadership table, and I tell her at this early age (13), …find problems you can resolve, be resiliant, create your own opportunities… and yes I am teaching her the inherent power of EI in Leadership.. thanks for the article !
